I recently moved to Hackney Central, and not going to lie I was a little nervous about what sort of good stuff would be around, if any. Lucky for me, I was introduced to the Pacific Social Club on day 2 of my new Hackney life. It's situated right on the street where the heart of the Hackney portion of the London riots happened. Luckily for them, nothing was damaged, which is amazing, considering the corner store I'm sure you've heard a bit about is on the same block.
So, one morning we head over to the Pacific Social Club to meet my Mum's friend for coffee/brunch. It's a tiny little place, with old record slips pasted to the walls, retro booths and miss-matched tables and chairs. There's a chalk board with the menu, things like Grilled Grapefruit and all the coffees from Long Black to Flat White.
It was a good atmosphere, I want to go back.
I got a double latte and melted gouda w/ paprika and honey on toast, and my Mum got a double latte with the grilled grapefruit... here it is!
