So I'm just over a 1/4 of the way through my herbal detox, and so far it hasn't been too bad. I do have a bit of a heightened craving for those delicious croissants filled with bacon and cheese at Pret A Manger, and I do have a hard time looking at photos of my friends in Canada eating poutine without wincing a bit... But, other than that and my one late night slip up, all is well! Yeah, I said "slip up"... Wasn't really that bad though - just a chicken doner! Not much you can do when it's 3:00am and someone insists you have one (he didn't know I was on a cleanse, felt a little to shy to say... eek).
Though the D-tox booklet tells me to avoid eating out, there's not really much I can do about that seeing as I run to casting all day Mon-Fri. Luckily, it hasn't been difficult to find foods that fit within the guidelines, so I've managed to continue to eat quite well!
Here's what I've eaten since I last posted, minus a few that I ate before I remembered to photograph...oops.
"Salmon Teriyaki" from WASABI with a french bean/soy bean sesame salad and sticky rice.
"Salad Nicoise" from Pret A Manger with mixed greens, cucumber, tomatop, red onion, new potato, asparagus and egg. Dressed in balsamic vinaigrette
Rainbow chard fried in olive oil with red onions, garlic. Seasoned with chilli flakes, salt and pepper.
Chopped salad with red pepper, carrot, cucumber, tomato, chives, coriander and mint. Dressed in olive oil, lemon, salt and pepper.
